How to setup Avalon Nano 3S

The Avalon Nano 3S package includes accessories allowing you to start Bitcoin Mining as soon as you get it.

The Avalon Nano 3S is a home Bitcoin Miner that will not bother you with the heat and noise it produces. All you need to do is to prepare a normal Wifi network environment, either at home or in the office!
Canaan has launched an Avalon Family APP to support the three current Avalon home Bitcoin Miner: Avalon Nano 3;  Avalon Nano 3S;  Avalon Mini 3.

Now we use the Avalon Family APP to connect Avalon Nano 3S, Avalon Family you can search in the Apple Store or Google Play to download it.

1. Avalon Nano 3S connects to the power supply and plugs in the Bluetooth USB module

2. Open Avalon Family on your phone and click the Add button

3. The Avalon Family add page currently shows three miners (Avalon Nano 3; Avalon Nano 3S, and Avalon Mini 3), and we select the Avalon Nano 3S and agree to Bluetooth access.

4. Click on the search button, after a while it will show the name of the miner, click on the searched Avalon Nano 3S

5. After success, it will ask you to connect Wifi for Avalo Nano 3S, make sure the Wifi that Nano 3S is connected to is the same as the one on your cell phone.

6. After the success of the phone and the Avalon Nano 3S is bound, the first connection will remind you to change the password, the default password is “admin” if you do not need to click save.

This has successfully connected the Avalon Nano 3S!!

7. Now we need to go and configure the mining pool address, we click on Settings in the app, and click on Pool Configuration, to add a mining pool you can do it in two ways.

1. Directly use Avalon Family to scan the F2pool mining pool card included in the package to add the pool address

2. Go to the mining pool to get the mining address yourself, here we use the computer to teach you how to add the mining pool address, please make sure that the computer’s network is the same as the Avalon Nano 3S, the mining pool this time to ViaBTC for example

After the phone is properly tethered to the Avalon Nano 3S, the Avalon Nano 3S displays the IP address in the LED, which you open in your computer browser.

The browser will display a QR code after normal access, and you can scan the QR code on the screen with Avalon Family to go directly to the backend of the Avalon Nano 3S

Clicking on the pool config button takes you to the page where you can add a mining pool.

We go to the ViaBTC mining pool page (please make sure you are registered) The Avalon Nano 3S mines Bitcoin, so please make sure that the coins you choose are Bitcoin!

Click change in BTC Pool, you can choose the mining mode, Avalon Nano 3S is more suitable for Solo mining, you can also support the mining pool mining, according to your own needs can select

In the Smart Mining Settings column, click on mode, and click on change to select the mining currency, you can choose BTC or BCH, both choose to set up correctly after copying the Smart Mining URL

Just paste the mining pool URL into the Pool config page you just created, enter the miner name, and finally save it.

By this point, all settings of the Avalon Nano 3S are complete and working.
You can see the current hashrate, and power consumption information on the LED screen of the Avalon Nano 3S.

New features and playability added to the Avalon Nano 3S

After connecting the Avalon Nano 3S to the Avalon Family you’ll find a lot of new and exciting features, the first thing that catches your eye are three options.

1. operating mode

There are three options of low, medium and high, this will affect your arithmetic as well as power consumption performance, according to the actual needs of the choice can be, the default is the high working mode, most of the time are not required to set this function additionally

2. Lighting control

This is a very cool feature, Avalon Nano 3S has a row of light strips above the air vents, you can set the color of the light you want, as well as the light “Constant Brightness”; “Flashing”; “Breathing”; “Cycling” four display modes, you can adjust the brightness freely. There are also four display modes: “Constant”, “Blinking”, “Breathing” and “Cycling”, and an option to adjust the brightness, so you can adjust it freely.
